Chronic Symptom Consults

If you are like the “old me”, you’ve been struggling with symptoms that are chronic, but you’ve been cleared and/or dismissed by professionals who you’ve gone to for help. You may have been given medications, received every test under the sun, been referred to all the specialists…to no avail.

GPs, MDs and Hospitals are trained to identify illnesses once they reach crisis mode; they are there to fix broken bones and provide life-saving care. Individuals who do not fall within “normal” diagnosable categories fall through the cracks, just like I did. It was only through working with natural practitioners that I was able to discover all of the things my doctor didn’t know about- like: SIBO (small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth), MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome), PANDAS (Autoimmunity linked to Strep), Mold/Mycotoxin Illness and more.

Once I was empowered with this information I could heal on my own terms, using the power of food and supplements.

Nutrition, supplements and targeted lifestyle strategies are often the missing pieces to managing complex health symptoms, but these strategies are not “one size fits all”. In order to help my clients, I formulate targeted protocols based on their test results, my assessment formula and also my wealth of experience.

You might be wondering, what makes these appointments different from other Nutritionist services. Well, I am a chronic illness and infection warrior first and a Nutritionist second; I am very experienced in the realm of supporting complex & chronic symptoms, knowing very well that Nutrition is important but is certainly not the whole picture. I am also a Child & Youth Care Practitioner practicing trauma-informed care and specializing in the family dynamic.

If you’re still wondering if my services are for you, here are some of the most common complaints I hear from my clients:

  • My bloodwork looks all clear, but I still feel horrible.

  • I’ve had scopes which look fine, but I still struggle with IBS.

  • My Celiac test is negative but wheat bothers me.

  • I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety and the medication doesn’t work.

  • My hormones are all over the place and I’m on birth control.

  • I have an autoimmune condition and want to manage it naturally.

  • I don’t feel in control of my thoughts or actions, I am scared.

  • My child cannot focus and has complex behaviours.

  • My child has chronic asthma and/or eczema.

  • My child was diagnosed with Autism. I want to help them- what can I do?

  • I think my child might have PANDAS, but my doctor doesn’t believe me.

If any of this sounds like you, then you were meant to come across this page. Keep reading for service options.

I can’t wait to help you.

Service Options:

Adult Initial Assessment (13 and older. Up to 75 minutes)

You’ve been trying to figure this out on your own for far too long. Come, have a seat in my virtual office and pass the torch to me for over an hour while I take a deep dive into your health concerns. We will review your health history, symptoms and goals, using this information to formulate Phase 1 of your health plan. This will help you understand why what you’ve tried hasn’t worked so far, and what we will do to fix it. You will walk away from this appointment with:

  • In-depth understanding of your body and symptoms

  • Confidence to take back control of your health

  • A report detailing your unique dietary, supplement and lifestyle recommendations

  • Concrete, simplified and effective strategies

  • A general idea of how long we will need to work together to optimize your health & well-being (ie. number of suggested follow-ups)

  • An idea of your ongoing investment (for critical components of your care, like: testing, supplements, lifestyle strategies etc.)

Paediatric Initial Assessment (12 and younger. Up to 75 minutes)

Childhood nutrition is more than what meets the eye. I am on your team to help you answer complex questions like:

  • “Does my child have any nutrient deficiencies?”

  • “Why can’t my child focus?”

  • “How can I help my child with anxiety?”

  • “Why does my child have tummy troubles and how can I fix it?”

  • “Can I use natural tools to help my child with PANDAS/PANS?”

  • What should I feed my child with autism?

Children are extremely intuitive and always have underlying reasons for what foods they refuse and/or love. Come for a virtual visit with your child (don’t worry, your child can go off and play after the first 15 minutes! This is the beauty of a virtual set up) so that we can team up and empower him or her to make healthy choices, based on his or her unique body.

Subsequent Consult (times vary based on need)

Once your initial assessment is complete, we will make a plan for follow-ups. These appointments are crucial to your/your child’s success as this is where we review progress, test results and add important new phases and steps to your plan.

Functional Lab Testing

I often say “test, don’t guess”, but only when the tests are comprehensive. Unfortunately, most regular physicians are not offering tests which dive deep into the reasons behind chronic health symptoms. This is why I offer privatized lab testing within my practice. There are often many dots to connect in order to help one go from unwell to thriving; the right testing can be an integral component.

What sorts of things can we test for?

  • Food Sensitivities (IgG reactions)

  • Leaky Gut (Zonulin testing)

  • Candida Yeast Overgrowth

  • Histamine Intolerance/Sensitivity & DAO

  • Parasites

  • Bacterial Overgrowth

  • SIBO

  • Mold/Mycotoxins

  • Mineral Status

  • Vitamin Status

  • Detox Markers

  • Digestive Capacity (fats, starches, proteins)

  • Hormonal Imbalance

  • Chemical Toxicity

  • Glyphosate Toxicity

How do I get started?

Testing is available as add-on to your initial or subsequent consult. Booking a consultation allows for the most thorough review of results and protocol creation. Use the “Book Now” button below to book your appointment; be sure to select the relevant initial appointment type (Adult or Pediatric). Please note that the cost of testing is NOT included in your consult fee and that fees will vary.
